The Business First Visit

So you’ve decided to participate in a Business First visit. We’re looking forward to talking to you!

This is a great opportunity to voice your opinion, connect with resources that might help your business today, and form a lasting relationship with your local economic development department for any needs that may arise in the future.

Who are the Business First Volunteers?

The Business First visitation initiative is organized and managed by economic development professionals who specialize in helping businesses in their respective communities. But with so few professionals and so many local businesses, volunteers are recruited to conduct visits, drastically increasing the number of businesses we can help each year.  Our trained and experienced volunteers are dedicated community representatives who care about local businesses; in fact, many own or manage businesses just like you.

What to expect during a visit?

A volunteer or business development specialist will visit you at your place of business during a mutually convenient time to have a conversation. Your visitor will ask several questions, which are carefully designed to quickly identify opportunities for us to connect you with resources that may help you meet your business goals. We know you are busy and appreciate your time; the visit should only last about 30 minutes.

Don’t have time for a full visit, but want your voice to be heard? You can fill out an electronic visitation survey.
