Starting with one branch and 14 employees in 1987, Virginia Air Distributors, Inc., has grown to 15 branches and more than 160 employees. When the company decided to consolidate its Richmond branch operations into one location, a local Business First representative from Chesterfield County received a call from the company asking for assistance with the planning and permitting process.

"From the beginning, Business First-Chesterfield took the time to meet with me, understand the company’s needs and remained supportive of the business during the entire planning and permit-seeking process. A representative accompanied me to the planning commission meeting in order to lend support on any questions that came up — as it turned out, there were none — but the fact that a representative came to assist me was important. And when we encountered some difficulty getting the county to respond with certain permits, Business First-Chesterfield interceded on our behalf and helped us receive the permits faster than I would have been able to do on my own.
