GENEDGE ALLIANCE is a network affiliate of NIST-MEP, a national network of more than 59 affiliate centers, bringing enterprise expertise to over 149,000 businesses across the United States. The NIST affiliation brings a state-of-the-art knowledge base and access to a national network of expertise, assuring clients that the latest technical knowledge will be brought to bear on their problems. RichTech
Based in Richmond, Virginia, RichTech serves to promote the region as a technology center and provides a vehicle for addressing the needs of Central Virginia's dynamic technology community.
RichTech serves as a catalyst to stimulate and connect innovative, creative and technical people.
Founded in 1989 as the Central Virginia High Technology Network, the Council adopted the name The Greater Richmond Technology Council in 1995 and joined a growing association of regional technology councils in the Commonwealth, The Virginia Technology Alliance. In the spring of 2009 the organization announced its new strategic direction and brand; RichTech. RichTech is governed by a Board of Directors and employs two full-time staff members. Council membership is representative of the Central Virginia economy. The technology sector of that economy is actually a combination of several key technology based industries including: information technology, biotechnology, telecommunications, high-performance manufacturing and others. This diversity is our strength and our members not only represent technology producers, users and service providers, but also the supporting industries, organizations and institutions that provide the infrastructure and catalyst necessary for economic expansion.
