Now Hiring? Area Workforce Centers Help Employers Connect 2 Talent
If you’re like 30% of companies we’ve interviewed this year – you have plans to hire. In fact, the Business First team has identified more than 100 companies who collectively plan to create about 550 new jobs in the coming year. There are resources to help you find your next great employee.
Employer’s challenges range from feast to famine. Either they are overwhelmed with applicants or they are still not connecting with the right candidates. We know there is amazing talent out there looking for their next career opportunity and we work with a network of partners to connect them to you.
First call to connect with qualified, screened candidates should be a business services representative at the Capital Region Workforce Partnership. The Capital Regional Workforce Partnership provides a variety of free or low cost services to support your recruitment program. They have access to a database of candidates, can assist in developing an effective job description and can help you understand the “must-have” qualities in your next successful employee.
If you want to take the next step, let them help you by administering any variety of screening or skills assessments to improve the odds of making the right hire the first time. Employee turnover-related costs represent more than 12% of pre-tax income for the average company, according to one Saratogo Institute report. That’s big money by anyone's measure. Most of the services offered by the CRWP are free for qualifying employers.
